Life Changing: SaaS

Is SaaS life changing?   definitely  

It’s been pretty busy month, spent all my time to learn the basics of a  new cloud based application. It gives me opportunity to understand  SaaS concepts in a real time application. A single hardware configuration serves multiple business needs by running multiple software instance and customizing for each customer. The ability to  handle  customization needs  without effecting core function model. 

Real secrets of successfully deployment lies on  two  things: know your business & know deployment technology. 

Conventional software vendors traditionally push customers to invest for IT infrastructure. This requires capital investment for specialized hardware, software, license, maintains and people. But the common question “why invest for other stuff, we need our investment goes directly to our business”.  That’s absolutely true. Why Customer should take care of data center, maintenance, licensee and all the burden of IT infrastructure. This is where cloud computing gives amazing liberty to customers to receive software as a service. A customer needs only to pay for consumption. 

SaaS application development needs right business domain expertise as well as technical fluency. The ability to understand needs and transform needs to a functional output and structuring these needs through a cloud application is not an easy task. But right deployment definitely able to handle needs of a specific domain quite a few years.
